Here’s how it works: New registered users who reflect your name as how they learned about the website will have their active listing numbers added to your active listing number being tallied on June 1. Those with 300 or more active listings will enjoy 3 months of final sales fees waived (June through August 2012.) Active listings must be maintained during this three month period to continue to receive the waiver of the final sale fee.

  

Question: What makes your website unique as compared to Ebay or Craigslist?

Answer: Sellbuytheroom.com is the only website to offer the patent pending “Sell Multiple Items” option. The website has evolved to be a hybrid between Ebay and Craigslist providing capabilities to buy and sell items utilizing auction, fixed cost or classified options based on the local level available for selling and purchasing to registered users worldwide. The “Or Best Offer” feature is also available to buyers when sellers have added this capability to their listings.

 

Question: Is your website designed to only sell or buy furniture when referring to “room” in your name?

Answer: Sellbuytheroom.com is designed to sell anything taking up room in your world. This includes any items large or small including furniture but not limited to furniture. You may sell or buy as many items as you like. There are no limitations to what you can sell other than those items prohibited as stated within the terms of this website.

 

Question: How can I get the word out so more buyers and sellers utilize sellbuytheroom.com?

Answer: A great place to start would be to “like” us on Facebook. Also, advertise your items on “Facebook” utilizing the link available when establishing your listing. Follow us on Twitter and tell all of your family, friends and colleagues about the website. Word of mouth and social media work wonders!

 

Question: When I sold an item I only knew this because I received notice from PayPal I received a payment. Why didn’t Sellbuytheroom notify me of my sale?

Answer: When an item is sold sellbuytheroom.com sends an email to both the seller and the buyer notifying both parties of the successful sale. It is important to set up Sellbuytheroom as one of your personal contacts so emails will be routed to your inbox. Even when established as a contact, emails may not always be routed to your inbox so please make it a point to check your “junk” items on a regular basis.

 

Question: Why does your website only accept PayPal?

Answer: Our intent is to discourage “scammers” from preying upon users of this website. PayPal is being utilized in an attempt to add a level of security to our registered users’ buying and selling experiences on sellbuytheroom.com. Our website does not collect or maintain personal credit card information – leaving this to the experts such as PayPal. We are investigating adding additional experienced financial management sources as options in the future. Please know, we will not compromise our commitment to do what we can to protect your financial security and success while utilizing our services.

 

Question: As a business owner, am I able to sell my merchandise on sellbuytheroom.com?

Question: Can I get assistance if I need it to establish my “Sell Multiple Items” listing?

Answer: Yes! Send an email requesting a coaching session to jean.harris@sellbuytheroom.com and schedule a time to begin your selling experience! The "Sell Multiple Items" option is unique to this site so a little bit of assistance when using it is understandable and available!

 

Question: Can I advertise my business on sellbuytheroom.com?

Answer: Yes, send an email to advertise@sellbuytheroom.com for more information. Your advertisement will be placed at the top of the home page and will rotate with other ads.

 

Question: What is the advantage of the “Sell Multiple Items” option?

Answer: The “Sell Multiple Items” option is unique to this website. You are able to take one picture with multiple items reflected within the image and sell those items individually by marking each with a hotspot. The seller may also decide to sell all items within the image as a combined group – one purchase. When posting, the seller saves time when completing the details for each hotspot. In addition, should the seller decide to list the items to sell also as a combined group, the price of the combined group listing is pre-populated equal to the sum of the hotspots. A discount may be added to the combined group listing at the seller’s discretion. As individual hotspots sell the price for the combined group is adjusted accordingly allowing for streamlined management for the seller involving the overall listing. Try it, you’ll like it!

 

Question: How quickly will my items sell?

Answer: It is difficult to predict how quickly your items will sell. This is a new website and we are adding more registered users, buyers and sellers each day. Sales will consistently increase as people learn of the website. Competitive pricing and/or adding the “Or Best Offer” feature will help to attract the right buyer. In addition, the more complete the description of your listings the easier it will be for a buyer to make the decision to purchase.

  

Question: How do I provide feedback to the seller or buyer regarding the buying experience?

Answer: As the seller you would go to "My Account", "Listings" and then click on "Successful". Find the item you sold and submit feedback regarding your experience with the buyer. As the buyer, you would go to "My Account", "Bidding" and then click on "Won". Find the item you purchased and submit feedback regarding your experience with the seller.

 

Question: When I incur fees either through selecting listing options with minimal charges or when I sell an item incurring the final sales fee how and when do I pay sellbuytheroom.com?

Answer: We recently put a process in place where we will send you an invoice with an embedded payment link to help to facilitate a quick and easy payment. Email invoices will be sent to you when $5.00 in fees has been accumulated or after 30 days, whichever occurs first.

 

Question: When one of my listings has expired what do I do to activate it?

Answer: Step by step directions are reflected within the “help” section of the website. To summarize, it’s easy! Go to your “My Account”, click on “Unsuccessful”, and then click on either “Relist” or “List Similar”.

 

Question: What is the difference between “Relist” and “List Similar”?

Answer: When activating your expired listing and selecting the “relist” option you are relisting your original posting exactly as it was first established. The “relist” option is available to both the “sell single items” expired listings and the “sell multiple items” expired listings. For reactivation of “sell single item” listings only, you can select “List Similar” which would allow you to make changes to your original single item listing. The “list similar” option should not be used when activating expired “sell multiple items” listings as the relationship you originally established between your hotspots and the combined group listing will only be retained via the “relist” option.

 

Question: Why should I only select the “relist” option when activating my expired “Sell Multiple Items” listing?

Answer: When you reactivate your “Sell Multiple Items” listings you will retain the relationship between your hotspots and the combined group only when you select “relist”. If you select “list similar” you will lose this relationship and at the same time will lose all of the advantages of the “Sell Multiple Items” capability. Note, always “relist” your combined group listing first. This way all expired associated unsold hotspots will automatically be relisted at the same time.

 

Question: After I establish my listing can I make changes to it?

Answer: Yes! Step by step instructions are reflected in the “help” section. To summarize, you would go to “My Account”, “Listing” and then “Active” – click on the edit feature of the listing you wish to modify and the rest is easy. Remember to “save” your changes when you are finished.

 

Question: What are the advantages to adding the “Or Best Offer” (OBO) option to my listings?

Answer: The OBO option helps to facilitate negotiation between the buyer and the seller. When used in concert with the fixed pricing option it allows for more flexibility increasing the chances for a successful purchase/sale. This option can also be applied when utilizing the auction pricing bringing flexibility to the “buy it now” auction experience.

 

Question: When I add OBO to my listing and check it will I be able to view it and see OBO added as a buyer would see it?

Answer: Since this is “your” listing you won’t be able to view the OBO as a buyer would see it. In order for a buyer to have access to the OBO feature on your listing he/she has to be signed into the website – this prevents just anyone from having access to communications with you.
